A Future Where 2SLGBTQ+ Youth Can Thrive

The Belonging Initiative is a national advocacy organisation founded by Miss Teen Personality Southern Canada, Shaelyn Hunter. The initiative is working to improve mental health outcomes for 2SGBTQ+ youth through various workshops and training programs for school-aged children, teachers, and mental health professionals.

Affirming mental health support should begin long before a young person reaches a crisis point. It begins at home, in classrooms, in healthcare settings, and in the communities where they learn whether or not they are safe and cared for.
